All our accreditations and recognitions

What is accreditation?

In France, private schools, particularly business and engineering schools, must obtain official recognition for their diplomas to be considered equivalent to those issued by universities. This recognition is based on two main levels: Visa and Grade.

These accreditations are issued by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR). In addition to national accreditations, there are international accreditations which are recognized worldwide.

These recognitions (accreditations, labels) certify the quality of a program or school, according to criteria (or standards) established by the latter and covering several fields (strategy, teaching, scientific research, student life, internationalization, professionalization, etc.).

The Visa

A Visa is an authorization granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) to a private establishment, enabling it to award a state-recognized diploma. The management courses offered by these establishments are evaluated by the CEFDG (Commission d’évaluation des formations et diplômes de gestion). This diploma is officially recognized at national and European level via the ECTS system, opening up access to civil service entrance examinations, the pursuit of higher education, and the recruitment of students on social grants.

The Grade

The Grade is an additional academic recognition that enables a diploma awarded by a private school to be aligned with the national university system (Licence, Master, Doctorat). It can be awarded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), subject to compliance with demanding criteria: academic quality, scientific production, international openness and professional integration.

This Grade gives the diplomaofficial recognition equivalent to that of university diplomas, both in France and on a European and international scale, thanks to the ECTS system. It facilitates the pursuit of studies abroad, reinforces the international recognition of training courses, and enhances the academic legitimacy of private establishments…
